About Us
The first Race 4 Grace event was held in July of 2007. Friends and family from all over gathered to raise funds and participate in RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa). Race 4 Grace was founded in honor of Grace Nelson, who had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Since then Race 4 Grace has grown into an annual event to raise money and awareness for SMA and its main national organization, Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Today our numbers have grown from just a few close family and friends to extended family, acquaintances and even strangers asking how they can help our cause. Each year we are adding to the events we attend. Other than RAGBRAI, we participate in 5K Runs and other SMA organized events.
Where Do The Donations Go?
100% of all proceeds go to the FSMA (Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy) to help find a cure for SMA. Visit their website: http://www.fsma.org for more information.
